  • Arc Flash Hazard Analysis in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E
  • Short Circuit and Fault Current Analysis
  • Protective Device Coordination Studies
  • Equipment Evaluation and SCCR Verification
  • Time-Current Coordination (TCC) Development
  • Electrical System Modeling and Validation
  • Arc Flash Mitigation Assessments
  • Utility and Distributed Energy Resource Impact Studies

Project Deliverables

  • Detailed electrical system model
  • Updated single-line diagrams
  • Arc flash labels and equipment schedules
  • Coordination curves and protective device settings
  • Engineering calculations and technical reports
  • Recommendations for system improvements and risk reduction

Value to Clients

By identifying fault levels, coordination deficiencies, and arc flash hazards, we help facility owners reduce operational risks, improve personnel safety, minimize downtime, and maintain compliance with applicable electrical safety standards.

single-col-fives

We provides arc flash and breaker coordination studies in accordance with NFPA 70E – Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and IEEE Standard 1584 – Guide for Performing Arc Flash Hazard Calculations. These studies are essential for regulatory compliance and play a critical role in ensuring employee safety.

Our team includes experts with over a decade of experience in similar projects. We understand the importance of these studies and assist facilities in meeting all applicable safety and compliance requirements. As part of our services, 3S MEP +S also prints and provides arc flash labels for application on electrical panels.

We utilize the SKM Power*Tools (System Analysis) software to model electrical systems and generate detailed, accurate reports.

Arc Flash Services

  • Model the electrical system using SKM Power*Tools (System Analysis) software.
  • Calculate fault current (worst-case short-circuit current) at each piece of equipment and compare it with the equipment’s short-circuit rating.
  • Review system coordination and provide recommendations to improve overall system reliability.
  • Perform arc flash hazard analysis and recommend mitigation measures, such as adjusting circuit breaker settings or selecting
  • Appropriate fuse types. Compile results and recommendations into a clear, easy-to-readreport.
  • Print arc flash hazard warning labels, including applicable PPE requirements.
  • Labels are provided for application on switch boards and panels by the client.
