The Creamology Ice Cream Parlor required a fully coordinated 3S MEP+S design to support specialty frozen dessert production, customer dining areas, display freezers, and back-of-house preparation spaces. The project focused on creating a comfortable customer environment while ensuring reliable operation of refrigeration and food-service equipment.
Designed dedicated HVAC systems to maintain indoor comfort despite high refrigeration and equipment heat loads. Performed cooling, ventilation, and heat-dissipation load calculations, including the heat contribution from kitchen and food service equipment, to accurately determine the total HVAC load and support the sizing and selection of mechanical equipment. Provided balanced supply and return air distribution and designed outdoor air ventilation systems to maintain indoor air quality and occupant comfort.
Integrated exhaust systems for food preparation areas and coordinated refrigeration condensers and other mechanical equipment. Implemented energy-efficient controls and designed condensate drainage systems. Designed and coordinated the installation of high-efficiency gas-fired rooftop units (RTUs), including gas piping connections, combustion air requirements, rooftop equipment layouts, roof curbs, service access, and control systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Designed domestic cold and hot water distribution systems and provided floor sinks, indirect waste connections, and condensate drainage systems. Designed sanitary drainage and vent systems. Performed grease interceptor sizing and selection based on fixture loading and local requirements and coordinated exterior grease interceptor installation on the site plan. Designed natural gas piping systems serving gas-fired RTUs and gas instantaneous water heaters (IWH), including gas load calculations, pipe sizing, and pressure-drop analysis. Provided cross-connection control and backflow prevention protection for applicable equipment and coordinated utility service requirements with local authorities.
The Electrical scope delivered comprehensive indoor lighting, power distribution layouts, and detailed panel schedules. The lighting layout was tailored to enhance the parlor’s modern aesthetic, using zoning schedules to control accent lighting, menu board displays, and dining ambiance. The power layout was engineered for high-demand food service equipment. We carefully mapped out circuit connections on panel schedules to safely power heavy-duty ice cream machines, commercial freezers, blenders, and refrigeration units.
3S MEP+S delivered a coordinated, efficient MEP design tailored to the facility’s needs, covering HVAC, plumbing, and gas systems for comfort, air quality, and reliable operations. Strong collaboration and early coordination ensured a code-compliant, energy‑efficient, and well-integrated solution supporting long-term performance.

3S MEP + S provides integrated MEP, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, BIM, Energy Modeling, and Structural Engineering services for building projects.
